The publication NOISE AND VIBRATIONS – Laboratory Exercise Manual is one of the deliverables of the SENVIBE project, within the SENVIBE activities planned in Task 3.3 Development of learning materials, the work package 3, Development of modules and courses for different engineering departments.
The publication is primarily intended for students at the study programmes of Occupational Safety Engineering; however, it is recommended as additional literature for students of other engineering fields who deal with the issue of noise and vibration.
This publication comprises six laboratory exercises. Each laboratory exercise contains the following: theoretical basis of the given problem, a brief overview of standardized measurement procedures, descriptions of the measuring process, connecting and adjusting instruments, literature review, a task for the student, an appropriate framework for recording measurement results, and patterns for calculating required quantities.
This publication appeared to be a much-needed resource after the modification of the subject Noise and Vibration offered in the study programme Occupational Safety Engineering at the Faculty of Occupational Safety in Nis. The modification of Noise and Vibration subject assumed the introduction of laboratory exercises, as a teaching method, where new laboratory equipment that was purchased under the SENVIBE activity 2.2, Procure, install and activate the equipment”(except laboratory exercise number 6) was used for the first time.
The training at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) at the University of Southampton, and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, realized within the project SENVIBE activity 2.3, Training of Serbian teacher and technicians, made a remarkable contribution during the preparation of this publication.
The authors of this publication are Momir Prascevic and Darko Mihajlov from the University of Nis.
